Description of the project

The One Blackfriars building is a mix-used facility, comprising a residential tower, a hotel and a retail and leisure space. The 170-meters high tower has a dynamic form that changes with the light, also thanks to the many curved and double curved panels of the external façade.

The need for clean color, reflectance and transparency led to the selection of Guardian SunGuard® HD Silver 70 on Guardian UltraClear™ low-iron glass.

Guardian SunGuard® SN 51/28 was chosen for the storefronts and tower lobby because of its solar protection and thermal insulation, but also good light transmission and high transparency.

For the hotel exterior, the architects combined Guardian SunGuard HP Neutral 60/ and SunGuard HP Neutral 50/32 to provide good solar heat reflection and plenty of natural daylight.
